Volunteer to help the association that helps you & enhances the value of YOUR membership!

Being a member of an IMBA committee introduces you to other industry professionals in Indiana that are working to make real estate lending better in our state! It also provides you with the opportunity to network and develop business relationships that can be very beneficial to your company and career. Additionally, by working on an IMBA committee, you will gain a greater understanding of the real estate lending business by sharing experiences with those others on the committee.


Volunteer for the 2020/2021 Program Year

Budget Committee:

Review prior years goals and accomplishments as well as the associated income and expenditures. Review and discuss goals for the upcoming fiscal year to help facilitate and plan the annual budget for presentation to the IMBA board. In addition, in conjunction with the Executive Director, research on an on-going basis, new possible revenue sources for the Association, and report monthly the financial position of the association to the State Board.    Committee members must be on the IMBA Board of Directors.

By-Laws & Ethics Committee:

On an annual basis, review and discuss the IMBA By-Laws and Code of Ethics, and suggest any updates/changes to either as needed. Additionally, review and discuss any complaints from members as well as any federal or state actions in regard to a member’s activities that suggests a discussion that may lead to a member’s expulsion from the Association.   Committee members must be on the IMBA Board of Directors.

Communications & Technology Committee:

Work in conjunction with members throughout the association and regularly review and discuss current communication platforms the association offers and their effectiveness. Additionally, research and develop other communication platforms and channels offered in the marketplace on a regular basis and recommend changes to the IMBA board.  

Education Committee:

Work in conjunction with members throughout the association to research and discuss current industry issues and challenges, and deliver to the IMBA membership, training and information to effectively address. In addition, work with the IMBA and Chapter Boards to develop the formats and agendas that will attracts sizeable audiences, and provide excellent value for those attending, and, net income for the operational needs of the Association. 

Future Leaders Committee:

Develop and sustain a first-class educational program for the IMBA members who wish to provide employees at their companies a unique opportunity for an in-depth, overall education of the mortgage lending industry. Assist the IMBA Executive Director in recruiting trainers for the modules, and, review marketing material and opportunities to enhance the Program. 

Internship Committee:

Work on tactics and strategies to develop interest in mortgage banking with a focus on students at Indiana universities and colleges, as well as trade schools. Develop materials for visits to these schools, the IMBA website, and for member institutions to use in their efforts to recruit young people to the industry. 

Legislative/PAC Committee:

Discuss expected/proposed and current state legislative and regulatory issues impacting the residential real estate lending industry and provide input to the IMBA Lobbyist(s) as to positions and actions to take with respect to each. In addition, discuss with current members of the Indiana legislature and government, as well as candidates running for office, their support for disbursement of approved funds to approved office holders/candidates. Work with the IMBA and chapter Boards to develop and execute an annual plan to raise funds for the IMBA PAC. (Note: This will include IMBA PAC Officers and Trustees.) 

Membership Committee:

Discuss and develop on a regular basis, lists of potential new members as well as ways to maximize retention of existing members. Set annual goals for and pro-actively recruit new members and retaining current. Annually review and recommend changes to membership marketing material to the IMBA board, and monthly, report to the Board any new members or other committee activities.
