ABOUT US
The mission of the Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association is to provide services, support and information to its members, and to promote sound and ethical business practices consistent with industry standards.
In keeping with this mission, the ultimate purpose of the IMBA is to help, through its members, to serve the mortgage financing needs of the people of the state of Indiana. As the voice of the mortgage industry, it shall, when appropriate:
- Seek and support legislation beneficial to its membership and the general public and, conversely, openly and actively oppose legislation deemed to be harmful to its constituency;
- Encourage and promote sound and ethical business practices among its members and in the real estate finance community at large;
- Educate, train and inform its members of any/all current practices and legislation relating to the mortgage industry and related businesses; and
- Provide a vehicle for the advancement of members of the real estate finance community through active lobbying, educational forums and committees dedicated to the mission of the IMBA.

As a professional trade group, the Indiana MBA serves as a resource and advocate and is the preeminent association representing real estate lending in Indiana. Throughout our history, Indiana MBA’s purpose has been to serve the mutual interests of its members in order to preserve, enhance and advance the mortgage banking and real estate finance business in the State of Indiana. The Indiana MBA supports the highest professional and ethical standards while promoting development and prosperity among the industry as a whole. Since 1958, members of the mortgage banking community have turned to the Indiana MBA for its leadership in industry education, legislative initiatives, regulatory support and networking opportunities. EducationThe Indiana MBA provides valuable and timely industry training, professional development opportunities, and up-to-date information on regulatory changes to expand the knowledge base and scope of mortgage bankers. Forums covering origination, compliance, secondary marketing, servicing, technology, closing, and mortgage fraud are offered throughout the year. AdvocacyThe Indiana MBA assures its membership a political presence in the state legislature and with our state regulators. We are prepared to represent the interests of our members at any hearing on state legislation, or with any regulatory agency that may affect the real estate finance business in Indiana. The Indiana MBA has been proactive in assisting in the drafting of legislation that promotes housing and sound practices in real estate lending. NetworkingAt our annual convention, workshops, seminars and events, the Indiana MBA provides members with industry-wide networking opportunities. Members of the Indiana MBA include mortgage bankers, community banks, commercial banks, savings and loans, mortgage brokers, private mortgage insurance companies, credit unions, title companies, credit service providers, appraisers, flood companies, attorneys, industry educators and non-profit housing agencies in Indiana.
