Every year bankers are sometimes blindsided with questions from regulators during an examination that come out of nowhere, and they are not necessarily prepared. “We would like to see your ROA (reevaluation of appraisal) process.” Or…“Can you provide an expense reimbursement spreadsheet for ALL of your mortgage lending professionals?” “Please (sometimes examiners say please) provide a detailed process for evaluating income from applicants…from w-2s, tax returns, 1099s, etc.” Expectations are changing as it relates to Fair BANKING. This session will present some recent, real-life, scenarios that have been encountered by banks during recent Fair Lending examinations that will provide insight as to thinking outside the box to be prepared for their next examination.
